Clarksville’s Tim Lynch played his first guitar chord at the age of 3. “That’s what my uncle David says.”
He chuckles and continues, “It’s hard to believe anything he ever said anyway, but I remember starting to play guitar when I was about 5 or 6. Learning chords, playing songs and you know, back then there wasn’t no YouTube or nothing. You just get a book and try to learn or watch somebody else.
“I was always kind of shy about it, you know. So… the way that everybody would get me to play is they would have to pay me.”
In the world of music, where many artists often find themselves pigeonholed into specific genres, Tim Lynch stands out as a beacon of versatility and passion. With a career spanning over decades, Lynch has not only crafted a unique sound but has also navigated the ever-evolving landscape of the music industry with authenticity. Let’s explore some of Tim’s journey, influences, and the lessons he’s learned along the way.
Tim Lynch’s musical journey began in the early 2000s, with the formation of his band around 2007. Despite the inevitable changes that come with time, Lynch has managed to maintain a core group of musicians, including a bass player and drummer who have been with him for more than 15 years. This stability has allowed Lynch to explore various musical styles, from original compositions to covers, while maintaining a cohesive sound.
Lynch’s approach to music is deeply rooted in his personal experiences and influences. Growing up, he was inspired by a diverse range of artists, which is reflected in his ability to seamlessly blend different genres. This musical diversity is what makes Lynch’s music so compelling and relatable.
Throughout his career, Lynch has performed in many different venues, each leaving a lasting impression on him. He recalls one particular gig that was so memorable, when he opened for Chris Knight. The energy and connection he felt with the crowd that night is something he cherishes and strives to recreate in every performance.
That’s what make live performances such a foundation of Lynch’s career. They not only provide a platform for him to showcase and share his music but also allow him to connect with his audience on a deeper level. This connection is something Tim values immensely, as it fuels his passion and drives him to continue creating.

"We had 1600 people just locked in, and in that moment, I realized the true power of music – it's not just about the notes, it's about capturing hearts."
